Meet Nate Drake

Nate Drake is a technology journalist specializing in cybersecurity. After years as a GCHQ analyst, then an Apple Engineer, he broke out of his cubicle in 2016. He has been writing ever since, both on his computer and his trusty Olivetti typewriter.

As a confirmed Linux and VPN nerd, Nate is a strong advocate for better awareness surrounding online security and a collaborative, open-source approach to software development. He agreed to become a regular contributor to the hide.me blog after seeing how the team enjoys informing readers about online privacy in a fun and entertaining way.

In his spare time, Nate is also a huge fan of retro gaming and is currently working on his book covering the history of cheating in video games from the Atari era to the present day.
