Europol has dismantled Kidflix, a major dark web platform hosting child sexual abuse material (CSAM), in an international operation dubbed “Operation Stream.” Led by the Bavarian State Criminal Police and supported by Europol, the investigation spanned 35 countries, identifying 1,400 suspects and arresting 79 individuals for CSAM-related crimes, including direct child abuse. The platform had 1.8 million users globally and hosted over 91,000 videos, with an average of 3.5 new uploads per hour.
Kidflix operated on a cryptocurrency-based token system, allowing users to earn tokens by uploading and categorizing CSAM content. Videos were available in multiple resolutions, with higher-quality versions requiring additional payments. On March 11, 2025, German and Dutch authorities seized the server containing 72,000 videos.
The operation also resulted in the protection of 39 children and the seizure of over 3,000 electronic devices. Investigators are analyzing confiscated data storage devices for further leads. Despite the success, Kidflix administrators remain at large. Europol emphasized the growing challenges posed by digital platforms in enabling borderless child exploitation crimes.
