Connecting To All Locations In Browser Extension

Our browser extensions are designed with an extra layer of security to eliminate the possibility of IP leaks. By default, hide.me browsers extensions have limited server locations that you can connect to.

If you wish to connect to more server locations, this can be only achieved in conjunction with our VPN client app and the SOCKS option in the extension settings.

To do this, please follow the steps below:

• Download our VPN client app and install it on your device.
• Login into our app and click on Change at the bottom right.
• Choose the server location you wish to connect to.
• Enable SOCKS in hide.me browser extension.

Note: With our free VPN service, you have a choice of 5 server locations (Canada, Germany, Netherlands, US East and US West). If you have paid for Premium service, you can connect to all server locations we support.

Does hide.me browser Extension Encrypt My Internet Traffic?

If you haven’t enabled SOCKS, our proxy extension does not provide encryption like our VPN service.

However, your DNS queries over the Internet will still be routed via our secure proxy server and your real IP is hidden from intruders and third-parties.
