How to Fix Windows Client Error 0x80030070 during installation?

How to resolve “There is insufficient disk space to complete operation.” error?

In this article we will address a rare issue that yields error code 0x80030070. This issue arises given some conditions are met. If you’re seeing this error, you most likely have the Windows Defender’s Ransomware Protection enabled. That is not to say our Windows VPN client is malware. This is to say that it triggered the protection by creating a shortcut in
C:\Users\Public\Desktop\ system’s folder.

This error is easily resolved by temporarily disabling the Malware Protection. Let us show you how:

Disabling Ransomware protection

In order to allow the hide.me VPN client to install properly, temporarily disable Controlled folder access. You can do it by following these steps:

  1. Click on the Start button and choose Settings
  2. Enter the word defender in search a setting bar and choose Windows Defender settings
  3. Now click on Open Windows Defender Security Center
  4. Choose Virus & Threat Protection
  5. Click on Ransomware protection
  6. Disable Controlled folder access by clicking the ON button
